“It’s our duty to concentrate all our influence to make popular that which is sound and good, and (to make) unpopular that which is unsound (and not good).”
-Joseph Smith

What I think this quote means is that its our job to do what's right even though others don't. Others will see you do the right thing and hopefully do the same. NEVER do the wrong thing. Others will see that you are choosing the right and hopefully choose the right too.

9 . . . . Don’t cram for exams. Successful students know that divided periods of study are more effective than cram sessions, and they practice it.
If there is one thing that study skills specialist agree on it is that distributed study is better than massed, late-night, last-ditch effort known as cramming. You’ll learn more, remember more and earn a higher grade by studying in four, one hour-a-night session on Thursday night. Short, concentrated preparatory efforts are more affected and rewarding than wasteful, inattentive, last moment marathons. Yet, so many students fall to learn this session and end up repeating it all over again until it becomes a wasteful habit. Not too clever, hah?
When you cram, you are taking a short cut, and short cuts never produce any real worthwhile results. Also, when you take shortcuts, you fell rather rotten knowing that you could have done better but didn't. Shortcut cut you short. You can’t plant watermelons seeds and harvest fresh watermelons the next day. It takes time. Cramming for a test or project and expecting them to harvest the next day. Plus cramming for a test or project doesn’t help you academically, so why even do it. Plan ahead, prepare ahead. Give yourself plenty of days and weeks to prepare for upcoming accountability opportunities.

“What’s right isn’t always popular. What’s popular isn’t always right.”
-Howard Cosell

What I think this quote means is that even though alot of people are doing something bad, it doesn't mean you should do that. You should always listen to your consious. It also means that if doing the right thing isn't what everyone else is doing, you should either way do the right thing. An example of this is that now a days a lot of people do drugs. Just becuase you see a lot of people doing drugs doesn't mean you should do drugs. Another example is that if you do great in school and most of your classmates don't and just mess around in class, you continue doing good in school.

7) ….Understand that actions affect learning. Successful Students know their personal behavior affect their feelings and emotions which in turn can affect learning.
If you can act in a certain way that normally produces particular feelings, you will begin to experience those feelings. Act like you’re bored, and you’ll become bored. Act like you’re disinterested, and you’ll become disinterested. So the next time you have trouble concentrating in the classroom, “act “ like an interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain eye contact with the professor, nod occasionally, take notes, and ask questions. Not only will you benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and professor may also get more excited and enthusiastic.
8) ....Talk about what they’re learning. Successful students get to know something well enough that they can’t put it into words. Talking about something, with friends or classmates, is not only good for checking whether or not you know something. It’s a proven learning tool. Transferring ideas into words provides the most direct path for moving knowledge for short- terms to long- terms memory. You really don’t “know” material until you can put it into words. So, next time you study, don’t do it silently. Talk about notes, problems, reading, etc. with friends, recite to a chair, organize an oral study group, pretend you’re teaching you peers. “Talk-learning” produces a whole host of memories

High School Graduation-

High School Graduation-
Pleasure or Pain
To graduate from high school it has to be pleasure. Maybe it was a pain having to wake up early and study hard but at the end it’s all worth it. At the end they have a Diploma and have learned a lot in school. When they get a Diploma it shows they

5) ….Don‘t sit in the back of the room. Successful students minimize classroom distractions that interfere with learning.
Students want the best seat available for their entertainment dollars, but willingly seek the worst seat for their educational dollars. Students who sit on the back cannot possibly be their professor’s teammate (see No.4). Why do they expose themselves to the temptations of inactive classroom experiences and distractions of all the people between them and their instructor? Of course, we know they chose the back of the classroom because the seek invisibility or anonymity, both of which are antithetical to efficient and effective learning. If you are trying not to be part of the class, why, then, are you wasting your time?
6) … take good notes. Successful students take notes that are understandable and organized, and review them often.
Why put into your notes you don’t understand? Ask the questions now that are necessary to make your notes meaningful in some later time. A shot review of your notes while the material is still fresh in your mind helps you learn more. The more you learn then. The less you have to learn later and the less time it will take because you don’t have to include some deciphering time, also. The whole purpose of taking notes to use them, and use them often. The more you use them, the more they improve.

“The time is always right to do what is right”
-Martin Luther King, Jr.

What I think this quote means is that no matter what time it is, you should always do the right thing. Even if your in the middle of a big problem it's your job to do the right thing. At all moment you should do the right thing.

3) ….Ask questions. Successful students ask questions to provide the quickest route between ignorance and knowledge you seek, asking questions has at least two other extremely important benefits. The process helps you pay attention to your professor and helps your professor pay attention to you! Think about it. If you want something, go after it. Get the answer now, or fail a question later. There are no foolish questions, only foolish silence. It’s your choice.
4) ….Learn that a student and a professor make a team. Most instructors want exactly what you want: they would like for you to learn the material in their respective classes and earn a good grade.

Successful students reflect well on the efforts of any teachers; if you have learned your material, the instructor takes some justifiable pride in teaching. Join forces with your instructor, they are not an enemy, you share the same interests, the same goals – in short, your teammates. Get to know your professor. You’re the most valuable players on the team. Your jobs are to work together for mutual success. Neither wishes to chalk up a losing season. Be a player!

“I know only that what is moral is what you feel good after and what is immoral is what you feel bad after”
-Ernest Hemingway
Pay attention to what is right and wrong.

What I think this quote means is that when you do something good you get a sensation of happiness inside of you. In the other hand, when you do something bad you start to resent it.

Successful Students1-2

Successful Students

Successful students exhibit a combination of successful attitudes and behaviors as well as intellectual capacity. Successful students…
1.)               ….. Are responsible and active. Successful students get involved in their studies, accept responsibility for their own education, and are active participants in it! Responsibility means control. It’s the difference between leading and being led. Your own efforts control your grade, you earn the glory or deserve the blame, you make the choice. Active classroom participation improves grades without increasing study time. You can sit there, act bored, daydream, or sleep. Or, you can actively listen, think, question, and take notes like someone in charge of their learning experience. Either option costs one on class period. However the former method will require a large degree of additional work outside of class to achieve the same degree of additional work outside of class to achieve the same degree of learning the latter goals and motivated by the way they represent in the terms of career aspirations and life as desires.
2.)               …..Have educational goals. Successful students have legitimate goals are motivated by what they represent in terms of career aspirations and life desires. Ask yourself these questions: what am I doing here? Why have I chosen to sit here? Is there some better lace I could be? What does my presence here mean to me?  Answers to these questions represent “Hot Buns” and are, without a doubt, the most important factors in your success as a college student. If your educational goals are truly yours not someone else’s they will motivate a vital and positive academic attitude. if you are familiar with what these hot buttons represent and refer to them often, especially when you tired of being a student , nothing can stop you; if you aren’t and

“My strength is as the strength of ten because my heart is pure.”
-Alfred, Lord Tennyson

What i think this quote means is that if you are a good person that's all that really matters. Your physical appearance doesn't matter. You may be the most prettiest person to everyone's eyes but if you are rotten in the inside people won't like you.

Studying for Multiple Exams Part 3

Studying for Multiple Exams
Part 3
English, math, foreign language tips: PRACTICE – especially foreign language. It’s hard to succeed in a foreign language class if you are just showing and doing the work. But if you are in your room and look at other objects and try to say to them in the language you are learning it actually helps. Or if you send a simple text to a friend think about it, can you translate that to German or Spanish? These are the little things that will help.
Here are my final words of wisdom for students who want to get better grades in college: Time management and organization are critical key factors to success in college. And never be afraid to go ask your teacher for help. They have office hours for a reason – use them!

CTW: Tennessee Walking Horse Trainers Torture Horses

CTW: Tennessee Walking Horse Trainers Torture Horses
Jackie McConnell is now going to court for something he did that was insane. He would torture the horses that he trained so that the horses would produce the high-stepping gait that wins championships. He would also put chemicals on their ankles and wrap their ankles with plastic so that the chemicals eat the skin which makes them be in such agony. He did this so that they would jump higher.
What Jackie McConnell was really wrong and hopefully he pays for his actions. What he did was choose the wrong just so that he would win the championships.

Study for Multiple Exams Part 2

Study for Multiple Exams
Part 2
My strategies for written assignments: Everyone has their own writing styles. I generally come up with an idea and do massive amounts of research before I ever think about writing. I then organize my research then sometimes prepare an outline before actually writing. I always print out the paper and come back to it the next day and reread it. That is the easiest way for me to catch my own mistakes. I have to give my eyes a break from it, and if I just wrote it I think it looks perfect. But if I look at it a day later I almost always find grammatical errors or phrases and sentences I just want to reword.
How I succeed in team projects: Never assume someone is doing what they are supposed to be doing. Have regular meetings and have each member show their work, not just give you or the group their word for it.

Study for Multiple Exams Part 1

Study for Multiple Exams
Part 1
How I study for multiple exams, deal with multiple projects: Really it is my time management that I explained above. If I see I have multiple things due or to study for all at the same time I spread out my time beforehand. For example, if I have a test Monday, and 2 tests Tuesday then I will study for my test Monday test Thursday and part of Friday. Start studying for my next test on the second half of Friday and part of Saturday, then my second Tuesday test on Saturday as well and part of Sunday. Then Sunday night I can review for my Monday test because I already studied for it. When that test is over I can begin reviewing for the other tests.
My overall study method: I try to break it up over several days or at least two. I get bogged down if I try to pull an all nighter.
How I’ve overcome an initial bad grade: If I received a low grade I probably knew it was coming because I didn’t prepare properly or I didn’t use the right study habit for that class. I usually try to go over what I did wrong and sometime discuss with the teacher what I can do differently on the next exam or what they suggest I do for studying for the next exam.

“Seek to do good and you will find that happiness will run after you.”
-James Freeman Clarke

What i think this quote means is that when you good deeds instead of bad deeds you get rewarded and therefore you are a happy person. An example of this is if you don't lie to people you won't have consequences and you won't have that bad feeling in your heart and you will feel happy and have a good reputation because people will know you as an honest person. If you were to lie to people they would think of you as a liar and won't ever believe what you say and you would feel melancholy. Another example of this quote would be that if you do good in school you will most like have a bright future, a future full of happiness. If you don't do good in school and get fails then you will regret that the rest of your life because you will have to be worrying about not being paying your bills because you will most likely be earning minimum wage.
