Student Success Statement 35

Student Success Statement
“To know what is right and not do it is the worst cowardice.”
-Confucius

What I think this quote means is that when you don’t choose the right, that’s the worst thing you can do. We should at all-time choose the right.

Social Studies
You can better understand local and world events that are happening now by studying the culture and history that has shaped them. Here is a suggested course plan:
·      U.S. history (two semesters)
·      U.S. government (one semester)
·      World history or geography (one semester)
·      One additional semester in the above or other areas

Foreign Languages
Solid foreign languages study shows colleges you’re willing to stretch beyond the basics. Many colleges require at least two years of study in the same foreign language, and some prefer more.
Learning a foreign language can be a challenge but is exciting. Repetition is the key to learning a language, and having conversations with others speaking the same language is the best way to learn this new language. Repetition in a fun way will build your skills thoroughly as you seek to master new languages.

What are the 3 magic keys to living your life with integrity?

Student Success Statement
“Have the courage to say no. Have the courage to face the truth. Do the right thing because it is right. These are the (3) magic keys to living your life with integrity.”
-W. Clement Stone

What I think this quote means is that even when you are in a stressful situation you have to do what is right. If someone who is a really close "friend" of yours, offers you to do drugs you have to say no. Even if it costs you your friendship with that person.

Science
Science teaches you think analytically and apply theories to reality. Colleges want to see that you’ve taken at least three years of laboratory science classes. A good combination includes two semesters of each of the following sciences:
·      Biology
·      Chemistry or physics
·      Earth/Space science

More competitive schools expect you to take four years of lab science courses. You can add two semesters in one of the following subjects:
·      Chemistry or physics (the science you didn’t already study)
·      Advanced biology
·      Advanced chemistry
·      Advanced Physics

Man returns stolen cash to Seattle, Washington Sears 60 Years later

60 years ago a man stole money from a Sears store located in Washington. The guilt was haunting this man. After 60 years he went to the Sears department and confessed what he had done on a note. In the note he left a $100 bill.
People say they saw a sigh of relief when the man was walking out the store.

My reflection towards this is that you have to be honest at all time. In the first place the man shouldn’t have stolen from the store but at the end he did what was right. He confessed his crime. He couldn’t hold the guilt anymore. When you do wrong the guilt will always haunt you. That’s why you have to be honest at all times.
